Quilt Style Types
Earlier Quilter, what kind of bedding should I do?
So I decided to return to its roots do something natural and relax – you've decided to make a quilt. The first step is to choose the type of blanket you want to do what will be the most satisfying and beautiful! There are many types for choose, but the key is to look at many examples and find one that makes you stop and watch for a while. It is a sure sign of this type would with the greatest enthusiasm.
The following list is a simple collection of different styles that exist quilt with a brief explanation of each style. If you're intrigued, you can do more research, visiting dozens wonderful web sites or browse the many books available on the quilt of Amazon.com, the Internet or local library.
The main types of coverage I have found are:
• Patchwork Quilt or split
* Traditional style
Amistad * – space for friends to sign, maybe a gift farewell
* Crazy – random design, all the different fabrics with different textures and
colors. Victorian styles were made with satins and velvets.
* Center of Medallion – A leading center panel surrounded by a series of
plain or coordinating borders
* Sampler – As an album quilt or friendship, but rather reconstituted
that wall – a different model in each block
* House – Each canvas is used once in the quilt together
• Applies "Quilts
* Traditional style
* Baltimore Album – Detailed design and embellished
* Hawaii – Using hand-dyed fabrics, batik, hand painted some
* Art Popular – Unusual tissue "found" art (eg, buttons)
* Portrait – Very artistic and painting fabrics used to produce an "image"
* Stained Glass – black bias is used to give a "leader" to effect between
squares, as a showcase
* Molas – All fabric sewn together, then the shapes are cut to reveal
different models under
* Celtic – continues to weave line called "path of life "
* Center Medallion Applique – One of the main wall panel
surrounded by a series of decorative borders
• Quilt Watercolor
A bit like a puzzle. A quilt for the very artistic, which employs
different colors and fabric patterns (very light to very dark) cut
into small squares and serve to paint a picture as you
create.
• Whole Cloth Quilt
Also known as "white" quilts. large piece of fabric (usually white)
where points are quilting design itself.
• Strip Quilt
Parallel bars or cloth strips that are arranged vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
• pictorial quilts
realistic images of people, animals, objects or scenes as the reason.
• embroidered quilt
Design embroidered on the top, not stick between the layers.
Choose the type Proper bedding is the first step. For the beginner, I find it very intimidating as measures of progress, but once it is all in order and ready to go, should become padding an avid crafts can be enjoyed in the years ahead.
